Project Engineers (Mechanical)

Experience and Skills Required:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years of related experience
  • Innovative with strong analytical problem solving and concept design skills
  • Experience in new product development
  • Ability to facilitate creative problem-solving sessions
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements and schedules
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships, impacting company sales and profitability
  • Passion for product development, design, analysis, modeling and client collaboration
  • Excellent interpersonal, client communication and project planning skills
  • Experience in medical device design helpful
  • Experience supervising projects and coordinating efforts of a project team a plus

Technical Requirements:

  • CAD experience in SolidWorks, Pro/E CREO, NX and/or CATIA
  • Computer-aided analysis (Predictive, Stress, Fluid, Thermal Simulation and/or FMEA)
  • Requirements management, tolerance and statistical analysis, and Design for Six Sigma
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with material and process selection, including DFM and DFA
  • Prototype manufacturing, with experience to build, debug, verification/validation testing and DOE
  • Patents (basic law, competitive landscape searches, avoidance and white space)
  • Regulatory/Standards knowledge in UL, FDA, ANSI, ASME, ISO, CFR, and/or NEC
  • Electro-mechanical product design, including the design of smart products
  • Capability with hand calculations and free body diagrams
  • Linear and non-linear analysis skills
  • Mechanisms and materials

 

Project Engineers (Electrical)

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 3 years of electrical engineering product development experience
  • Expertise in electronic hardware design
  • Proven aptitude in firmware development
  • Inventive problem-solver
  • Flexible to work on a diverse set of projects
  • Able to solve difficult engineering challenges
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with strengths in client and team collaboration
  • Ability to adapt efficiently to changing project requirements and schedules in a fast-paced consulting environment

Technical Requirements:

Product Concept / Architecture— Ability to conceptualize and communicate proposed design architectures to client, including smart/IoT products

Hardware Design and PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Design— Experience designing circuit boards and selecting all board components including:

  • System Hardware Design (basic analog design, digital design, and power supply/regulator design, etc.)
  • Schematic capture
  • Component placement
  • Routing
  • Board file generation (Gerber files and documentation) for manufacturing
  • OrCAD from Cadence
  • DxDesigner from Mentor Graphics
  • PADS from Mentor Graphics or similar tools

Microcontrollers (MCU) – Experience selecting appropriate MCU for product (cost, performance, etc.) and writing firmware for chose MCU, typically in C, with experience preferred in:

  • Spec from the Texas Instruments MSP430 line
  • Freescale or Atmel line of MCU’s

 

Engineering Leads (Mechanical and Electrical)

Experience and Skills Required:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, with 5 or more years of related experience
  • Proven record of guiding technical project design, tracking technical project progress and recommending technical direction and parameters
  • Ability to successfully partner with clients and team members to identify and solve technical challenges
  • Innovative with strong analytical problem solving and concept design skills
  • Experience in new product development
  • Experience facilitating creative problem-solving sessions
  • Supervisory skills to successfully direct the technical efforts of project team members
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements and schedules
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships, positively impacting company sales and profitability
  • Excellent interpersonal, client communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in consumer products or medical device design helpful

Technical Skills:

  • Currently working towards BSME, BSEE or related degree
  • Experience with 3D design tools like SolidWorks (BSME students only)

  • Ability to work independently and effectively coordinate work with other team members 
  • Efficiency in a fast-paced environment and adaptability to changing project requirements
  • Prior related co-op experience or experience
